Our Story

The perfect new beginning

Sheri and Wayne White were dealing with the loss of their beloved 16+ year old Black Lab mix, Elle, and wondering when / if to get another dog. She was such a gentle, intelligent and friendly soul. We couldn’t imagine ever being so fortunate as to find such a special animal to join our family – but the prospect of life without a dog seemed equally unimaginable. We carefully researched our options during the next year.

We Searched

The Region for our Dream Dog

Fortunately, our nearly year-long search came to a welcome end the moment we learned more about the Chinook breed. As proud dog owners for many years, we knew a good fit when we saw it, and immediately knew that this was an ideal breed for us.

We Found

The Perfect Breed for Us

We had an opportunity to meet our first Chinook in person – among 15 others – when we were invited to visit Leslie and John Donais of Granite Hill Chinooks in nearby Dover,NH. We were smitten with these handsome animals – and the rest is history.

We Celebrate

A Brilliant Breed's History

As New Hampshire residents at the time, we were keenly astute to the fact that this unique breed was the N.H. State Dog. We also learned that the original Chinook was famously instrumental in Admiral Byrd’s exploration of the Antarctic.
